Hi! I’m Bénédicte, founder and host of The Good Race, a platform exploring how we can live healthier, more purposeful lives (without sacrificing our wellbeing in the process).
I’ve built a deliberately unconventional career, first in academia and then working as a strategist across international development and diplomacy, working with global organisations including the World Bank and the UN, living in eight countries and picking up five languages along the way. If there’s a through-line, it’s that I’ve always been a bridge. I’m drawn to the space between complex ideas and everyday life, from thinking about how better infrastructure can transform a community to helping someone find movement that gives her more energy between work and motherhood. Different worlds, same question: what helps people live well?
After navigating my own health challenges and burnout, I turned to running and movement as part of my way back to wellbeing. I trained as a yoga instructor and certified running coach, and found purpose in helping people understand their bodies and become more curious about their health as a whole. What began with movement gradually widened into a broader exploration of holistic health and how it fits in the rest of our busy lives. Along the way, I began sharing my journey online, building a global community of more than 35,000 people. What started as a personal healing journey turned into a shared one.
That journey eventually became The Good Race. Here, I bring together science, lived experience and conversations with experts to make complex ideas about health and wellbeing accessible, practical and meaningful. My faith is part of that foundation, shaping how I think about purpose, stewardship and where the name of my platform comes from.
Speaking of the name, at the end of every episode, I ask my guests what “running a good race” means to them. I’m not exaggerating when I say it might be my favourite part of each interview, because the answers are always widely different and I love that.
So, here is mine: a good race is a life where I can take care of others, have a positive impact on the world, and steward the life and health I have been given.
